"Real" Book Challenge - April!

Goal: 100
Progress: 37

I managed to read 9 real books in April. I'm not sure how I didn't fall behind since I had plenty of exams and homework to worry about but somehow I found time to read! :)

If you're looking for a couple of great Contemporary novels, I highly recommend Saving Francesca and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. Both of these books left me speechless and mesmerized by the beautiful writing and the wonderful characters. Saving Francesca made me pick up all of Melina Marchetta's novels so that should give you an idea of how great it is. Since diversity in books has been a big issue the last couple of days, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is a must read.  I consider it a new favorite---definitely in my Top 3---and it deals with friendship, love, sexuality, and really unique and diverse characters. I'll write a full review of this one soon. The Blood of Eden series by Julie Kagawa is another favorite and I read two of the three novels in April. If you love Dystopian, Paranormal, and/or Post-Apocalyptic Fiction, you have to read it! It also has a really awesome female character so...READ IT.

I reviewed Don't Look Back HERE, in case you want to know what I thought about Jennifer L. Armentrout's first YA Contemporary novel.  I think the only disappointment of the month was Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover. I really enjoyed the first half of the novel. The rest...not so much. I loved the idea of having a playlist online since there are plenty of lyrics throughout the novel. However, I wasn't a fan of the relationship and I didn't love the love interest. I'm pretty sure NA is just not my thing.
